April and May!!!

Hello! Life is very full and hence I am two months behind in my blogging!!! So nice to take a minute and reflect on all the blessings over the past two months and attempt to relay a few with you.

April, Eva's birthday and Family get togethers
  • Eva and I completed our third 5k color run this spring with our friends Roby and Jacob Nunn. While doing so ran in to our dear friend Lynn Shelton who was doing the race with co-workers. Colman drove us there and cheered us on, while enjoying  a little coffee.
  • Eva turned 8! She continues to change and grow in so many ways and quite literally as well, she and Cole are certain she will pass me in height within the next 3 years.
  • We enjoyed another big family celebration at Uncle Fran and Aunt KT's house on Easter. The weather was perfect.  The kids and adults alike enjoyed the confetti filled eggs/ cascarones.
  • Eva had her follow up visit with GI doctor and we received a very good report! She tested negative for all food allergy / various conditions such as celiac disease that she was originally tested for. She if off the daily prescription medication, but continues her daily probiotic and Miralax regimen. Which she is not a fan of! However, seems to be working because we have only had one really bad episode with unstoppable cramping and nausea and it was after trying to be off the Miralax for a week... so we are back on it!
  • First Camping Trip! Eva's Girl Scout Troop earned a fun over night camping trip to Camp Thurman in Fort Worth. THANK YOU to everyone who supported this venture with the purchase of girl scout cookies!!!
  •  Happy Birthday Julia
May was filled with numerous celebrations
  • Colman's birthday, he turned 44 on May 2nd
  • My BFF Amye Cole turned 39 :) Great Kentucky Derby Party girls!!!
  • Mother's Day, we enjoyed a nice family lunch at Joe T's. I ran in to my dear friend Aimee (have known since 2nd grade, that is 31 years!) and her family, what a treat!
  • My birthday, I turned 39 on May 26th, Eva and Colman celebrated both my birthday and my being a mom, just perfectly. They are both so wonderful and loving, nice that Eva has such  a great man in her life to celebrate and honor her mother with.
  • Field day at CCA was extra special this year. Colman took the day off from work to serve as a volunteer at Eva's school on Field day. She was very impressed with him "mom, he brought his little orange backpack. he had gum in it, a water bottle and sunscreen. he brought me lunch too! with a big root beer not a the little ones you let me get." The next day, Eva came home saying   "My friends all think my dad is so cool, and want to know when he is coming back."
  • Our neighbors Will, Sarah, and Lily Rucker have arrived from Malaysia. We are so happy to have them next door, finally.  We enjoyed our first of we hope many front porch hang outs with the Ruckers before Will left for Dubai for a month. :( We will help keep his girls company during his various world travels. We made Colman's (now famous) Moscow Mules, and loved the stop over with Jenn, Daniel and kiddos, even KT stopped in for a late night visit with Mattie.
  • Happy Birthday Mary Helen!
  • The 13-14 school year has come to a close for Eva, she is now a 3rd grader!! :) Unofficially...
  • We are anxiously anticipating Colman's return and preparing to celebrate his second Father's day!! :) He has been gone for a week grading AP essays for College Board. We are very ready for our Colman to return!!
  • We are gearing up for summer and have already hit the pool!! Thank you KT for always being such a gracious hostess!!! We love you guys!
  • Mimi and Tito (my grandparents/ Eva's great grandparents, AKA: THE GREATS!) have had various medical issues  this spring but happy to announce both are back home, and  out of the hospital!! They have even been spotted in the 76110 making Sonic ice runs and honking as they drive by to give us the blessing!
  • Cousins Laura and Marianna have returned from their travels! Marianna has spent most of the year in Italy studying and I am sure having a fabulous life experience! Our artist Laura has returned to us from Austin, yeah!!!
  • Cousin Ralph sends updates regularly (via his parents and grandparents)and is getting more precious with every pic!!
  • Finally, a  BIG home upgrade! A new AC unit is being installed as I type this blog! We knew last summer this would probably be in our near future and a few weeks ago, when we reached mid 80s for the first time we knew the near future had arrived!!! So although it is a big expense, we are blessed to have a beautiful home and funds to supply the much needed upgrade.
I believe that is all for now... Enjoy some pics from the various events listed above!
